How do I establish professional boundaries?

• Have a clear idea of what your role as a CSW entails – refer to your job description as needed.
• Discuss the scope of your role as CSW (as agreed between you and the Services team at CFWA) with the client/family before you commence support.
• Keep your own family and personal life private and separate to your work – be careful about self disclosure, inviting members into your personal life and providing too much personal information about yourself.
